The Fine Print
1. Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern the tuition services provided by Forrest Tutoring, a sole trader business operated by Lewis Barnaby Forrest. By booking a session, you agree to these terms.

2. Booking and Payment
-
Pay-As-You-Go Sessions: Payment must be made in full at the time of booking via our website using our secure card processor (Stripe).
-
Packages/Block Bookings: Payments for multi-session packages must be made via Bank Transfer or Direct Debit prior to the commencement of the first session. Credits from packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
-
Recurring Sessions: For weekly recurring slots, payment will be collected automatically via Direct Debit (GoCardless) 3 days after each session.
3. Student Obligations
-
The student (or parent/guardian) is responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection, a working microphone, and a webcam.
-
Tuition will take place via Microsoft Teams. A link will be provided upon booking.
-
Students are expected to be punctual. If a student is late, the lesson will still finish at the scheduled time to avoid disrupting subsequent clients.
4. Technology & Environment
-
Forrest Tutoring is not responsible for technical failures on the student's end (e.g., internet outages). However, if technical issues arise on the Tutor’s end, the lost time will be made up or refunded.
-
Students must attend sessions from a quiet environment conducive to learning.
5. Limitation of Liability
-
While Forrest Tutoring strives to provide the highest quality education and support, we cannot guarantee specific exam grades or academic outcomes. Learning is a partnership, and the student's success relies heavily on their own study habits and engagement.
6. Code of Conduct
-
Forrest Tutoring maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive or inappropriate behavior. We reserve the right to terminate tuition immediately without refund if a student or parent behaves inappropriately.
2. Refund & Cancellation Policy
We understand that life happens. However, to protect the tutor's time and livelihood, the following policies apply:
1. Rescheduling and Cancellations
-
You may cancel or reschedule a lesson free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
-
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start time will be charged at 100% of the lesson fee.
2. No-Shows
-
If the student does not join the video call within 15 minutes of the start time, it will be treated as a "No-Show." The lesson will be cancelled, and [no refund] will be given.
3. Tutor Cancellation
-
If Forrest Tutoring needs to cancel a lesson due to illness or emergency, you will be offered a full refund or a priority rescheduling slot at your convenience.
4. Cooling-Off Period (Packages)
-
If you purchase a block of lessons, you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period to request a full refund, provided no lessons have been taken. Once lessons from a package have commenced, the remaining balance is non-refundable.
